Mike & Anne's Reviews

Great place to grab brunch! Great service except it can be slow. Especially when it's super crowded on a Sunday. We sat outside, tons of umbrellas and little bit of sunshine peeking between. I can only attest to this outside experience so bear with me here: Tables and chairs are comfy but they can be a little wobbly. Coffee with free refills, apparently offering dark roast and medium roast! Brunch was a fantastic experience overall. The food was fresh and the process to check in and check out was smooth.

I came here for the first time recently for a work celebration and must say this is a great cafe. We sat indoors, but I loved the spacious patio. It's serene and feels hidden despite facing a somewhat busy street. The breakfast was delicious and seriously, the best French toast I ever had. My colleagues were fans of the lemon ricotta pancakes and we all enjoyed the smooth, rich cappuccino. Mike & Anne's scored major points in my book when I saw they had my absolute favorite champagne drink, the Kir Royale. When I saw the Kir Royale at the top of the champagne menu I had an instant nostalgic 90's flashback. Of course, I ordered one, and if I were not at "work" I would have enjoyed a couple more. Overall, I enjoyed the food and the vibes here and will return if I'm in the area.

I passed by this restaurant often and it's always packed on a weekend. I decided to stop by for dinner last week for a table of five with two small dogs. I didn't make a reservation but I called prior to stopping by. I parked on the street and walked over. Our server is friendly and accommodated our dietary restrictions. Here's what I ordered for dinner: Soup of the day: roasted corn soup - it was on the sweet side. I really enjoyed it and wanted to order another bowl. If you like corn, I think you'd enjoy it. Peruvian ceviche - it was fine. I wish they would give you more chips. I would skip it next time. Prince edward island black mussels - everyone including myself really enjoy the rich and sour flavor of the broth! We ordered more bread so we can dip into the broth! Scottish salmon - the salmon skin was so crispy! Prime flat iron steak - I finished the entire plate. Mike & anne's burger - delicious. Steak frites with chimichurri sauce - the sauce was on the creamy side, different than the chimichurri sauce I'm used to. Without the sauce, it was ok. I would order the prime flat iron steak over this one. Boneless short rib - it was huge! Another delicious plate. Desserts: Bread pudding with salt caramel (forgot the actual name) - I'm a big fan of bread pudding and will order it if I see it on the menu. I have diabetes and thought it could be sweeter but everyone else said it was already sweet! I do enjoy it but it was quiet small in terms of size. Strawberry short cake - it was actually biscuit and quiet dry. Strawberry also sour. The table enjoyed bread pudding more. I'd stop by again to try their breakfast and lunch menu. Although I quiet enjoyed dinner menu already. I can't stop thinking about the roasted corn soup and bread pudding. I'd order two of those!

Our friends took us here for a late breakfast and it's a real pretty set up outside. They have built-in heaters and their menu isn't crazy busy. I got Mike's breakfast and it was damn good from end to end. Eggs were perfect and the potatoes and onion ratio was spot on. The bacon was solid and my sourdough bread was crispy perfect. My girlfriend got the breakfast burrito that came on a wheat tortilla and she got some elements taken out but enjoyed most of it. Our friends split the Anne's breakfast and one of them spotted Simon Helberg on the other side of the restaurant. We didn't bother him, but it brought a ton of memories of BBT during brunch.

Excellent brunch beautifully presented, lovely outdoor seating with friendly and non rushing service. I had the farmers scramble, it was delicious and colorful. I also had a taste of the huevos rancheros and corn beef hash, they were tasty and not too salty. Nice dog friendly outdoor seating in a garden setting. Heat lamp by our table was turned on by our request as it was a little cold. It was perfect. Only thing to watch was parking, we were told to come a little earlier. We parked on street across from restaurant, there were plenty of spaces at 11am on Saturday.

Good food, great service. The staff are super friendly and helpful, like filling my bike water bottle. The corned Beef hash is quite good without becoming too greasy or over salted. It can be a little bit more savory, but other than that it's worth getting. $20 is par for the course for the area, but I do wish it can be just a little more. A Solid B

BRUNCH WAS GOOD ================= My husband and I had brunch at Mike & Anne's restaurant on Saturday, September 28, 2024. We were out riding our bikes and initially had intended to go to a restaurant in San Marino, but decided to stop at Mike & Anne's instead. They didn't have a big bike rack outside, but a small one that was already taken. However, the host let us bring our bikes to the back of the patio along one railing. That worked perfectly because we could also see them from the patio. My husband ordered the fried chicken sandwich and he loved that. That was great because now he will want to go back again. I ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes and those were good. I loved the berry compote. The patio is dog friendly which is nice. I think there were three or four dogs there.
